My role is to help assist the sales and customer success teams by providing admin support and knowledge. This involves sending our order documents to the customers to sign, responding to internal and external queries, at the end of the month sending out all invoices to to the finance team.
Before joining Sage People I had no office based skills or experience so everything was a first for me. Now 6 months in I have learnt a lot around how to act and communicate properly within the office, with colleagues and external peoples such as partners and customers etc.
I joined Sage People right after college where I studied business. My reason for choosing my current apprenticeship is that I wanted to continue to learn more in deeper detail and so far I have done this with the practical side of things at the office and also the theory side of things in the apprenticeship workshops.
It is well organised as I have all the dates I need for my workshop and deadlines. However i could have done with more information on some of the things I need to do i.e my portfolio.
I receive lots of support and guidance, not only from Sage People but also my manager who has supported me since day 1 with advice and guidance.
I receive a lot of support, we have meeting either over the phone/ in the office every 8 weeks to see how I am doing.
I feel like it would it would help me perform better as I continuously doing research as well as practical type activities which gives me a great insight.
We also have experiences going on whether its coffee tasting, or running/boot camp. We are also given 5 foundation days each year so we can do some volunteering either with Sage or by ourselves.
Yes
I believe Sage is a one in a million type company. I am yet to find another company that operates in the same way Sage does. From the foundation days, to the way it looks after its employees.
I'd say just be yourself, show them that you can take the lead on activities, show initiative, don't be shy but most of all have fun.
