Im a mainetenance technician apprentice. Daily tasks depend on which area of the business you are in. Interactions occur with the collegues you are placed with. Responsibilites are mostly limited as you do not have authority.
Trained up to level 3 in PEO, BTEC & NVQ few internal courses such as ladder training, cherry picker etc
Do enjoy the programme meeting losts of ew people and building networks but i feel the programme could be 3 years instead of 4
As an apprentice you will be starting pretty much bottom of the ladder.
The training advisor area are understaffed for the amount of apprentices and every 3 months apprentices are placed into 6 weeks (gap filler) placements
My training advisor does his best to support the 90 odd apprentices but he is only one man, I do not think he recieves much support from his superiors.
The wages in comparison are very good and the other benefits I.E car scheme are also very good.
Yes
MAny of the current apprentices have family already working here so if you dont you need to make sure you are on the ball and give the best impression possible to gain a place.
