As a third year maintenance engineer i am current on placements within the factory shadowing skilled workers and learning to go into there job role
Lots, before the apprenticeship i had no experience of engineering but i now have PEO units, a BTEC and work towards an NVQ all in engineering
I really enjoy the work i am currently undertaking, the people i work with and the company are supportive and aid me in my progress into a future career
People from all parts of the plant will treat apprentices differently, most treat us with respect and do what they can to help, the main focus is that we are the future and therefore it is the companies interest to value us highly.
The programme is well laid out for us to progress and learn our job role as well and quickly as possible, we recieve very good training and good support from managers.
The training advisors are always avaliable if required, they are quick to offer support when required and generally have good knowledge of the correct process to deal with issues
The employer is always keen for us to improve and get the best oppitunities to learn, they support our learning very well and push us to achieve the highest level that we can.
The salary allows me to live comfortably but wil not support living away from home at this point, the company car scheme is very resonable.
BMW group play a big part in various events that we can attend and help with, the benifits at the company a spread very wide.
Yes
Good pay, well organised and very good benifits.
Be confident, dont be affraid to ask questions during the application/interview process and be sure that this is a career that suits you.
