My role as an apprentice is many things which involves mechanical and Electrical testing, installation and also instrumentation engineering. On a day to day basis I as an apprentice complete many tasks out on site and also in the office, these include both practical tasks and written tasks such as installation.
Yes, I have learnt many skills during my experience such as communication skills, working with others and also working indepentately. These skills have developed as Ive been working as I use all of the above on a day to day basis. I also have improved my organisation skills by organising my folder in college.
I enjoy my programme as I am always busy and always am learning new skills to better myself as a person and also as a working man. I'm always looking forward to be coming into work in the morning, always feel welcome and feel comfortable in my workplace area.
This is well organised and very well structured, I think this because the programme started off by an assessment week which we completed many assessments and tasks to be able to go out on site when we started fully at JN Bentley, these tests included CSCS test and a water hygiene test.
I receive a lot of support from my employer by keeping In contact often giving each other updates of tasks we've done and skills we have completed during our week in work. I ring my employer if I have a problem or if I have any questions regarding the apprenticeship.
I have a lot of support of my training provider at college whilst I am working towards my qualifications which is the level 2 NCQ, I have regular meetings with my assessor and monthly reviews to see the progress I am making on my work practically and written at college .
I feel well that my qualification helps me to perform better in my role as I complete tasks at college which help me whilst I am on site or at the office for work, when I do theory at college it helps me understand different key words of engineering which help me on site.
Yes, there are so many extra activities to do with your work friends, like ping pong, 5 a side football, golf etc. These are all held close to our work location as its easy to get to, everyone gets involved in the activites and helps people get to know eachother
Yes
Its a great company to work for, we have many benefits here at JN Bentley and the staff are great and make you feel welcome all the time, its also good pay so that makes people want to stay here and work hard to be able to pay their bills.
keep working hard, never give up. If you really wanted this career here, you'd do everything you can to make it happen. Don't follow others, do you're own thing and always be confident. Stay positive, make sure you stand out at the interview stage, confidence and manners are key.
