My role is store apprentice. My role involves me mostly working on tills and serving customers and also working on produce putting it out and making sure it’s tidy. I also do night shifts where I have to put all the ambient on the shelves ready for the next day.
I have developed my customer service skills a lot and I have learnt how to satisfy all different types of customers. The programme I am on has helped me learn more about customer service and how to be the best at it. I have also became a lot more polite from working at Aldi.
I enjoy the programme a lot of because it teaches me to look at scenarios differently and approach them differently to get the best possible out come. I also enjoy that it teaches me to be a better leader and how certain situations should be led by people and how to get the best possible outcomes.
The structure is very clear and easy to go with. There has been no problems on working on it. It makes me happy that the structure is clear and easy and it also helps me work through the course quicker and it means I can learn more about being a management.
I would say the support from the employer is the only thing that is a down side to the apprenticeship. I get asked how’s it going but that’s about it. I think if they gave me more time while I’m on shift to complete work it would be very helpful.
The support from the training provider is very good they regularly check how I’m getting on and what parts of the course I have done. They also try and push me as much as possible to get a head in the course so it makes it easier for me.
It makes me think more about situations and also makes me look at it from lots of other points of view and not just my own. It also helps me develop other leadership skills that aren’t as strong as my others so I become a better all round leader.
Yes there is. For example at the minute there is an Aldi football competition going on which I plan to compete in with me and some other people I work with. But we also have Christmas parties and other social events that are planned and dotted around the year that everyone goes to.
Yes
It has a very good work ethic the people that work there are all very nice and welcoming. There is no hostile vibes between anyone and they look after u well. The management is also very good at sorting out shifts for you so u can do things outside of work.
Efficiency is the main key at Aldi they want u to do everything to the best standard but also as quickly as possible, so that the store is looking tidy and also u have more time to do other jobs so that the store looks the best it can and u can also give the best customer service.
