I speak to clients, help set up accounts for them, help them to make payments, help their money to be invested. I also help the relationship managers and analysts with any tasks that they may need doing. I have also done presentations, projects and helped out with different teams to receive a well rounded experience within wealth management.
I have definitely developed my confidence in talking and communicating to different people. I have also become a lot more organised with time management and managing deadlines which certain tasks may have. In addition I feel that my wider knowledge of the industry as a whole has hugely improved since working here.
I really enjoy my apprenticeship at Rothschild. Everyone is really welcoming and helpful which is so reassuring when coming into such a huge company straight from school. I also like how supportive the company is with my programme as they give me a half day for revision purposes which I find so useful in the lead up to my exams.
I think that the program is well organised, however to begin with there was a lot of information to take in, therefore I didn't fully understand the process completely. However I was able to ask lots of questions, so therefore apart from that I think the program is well organised.
I have regular meetings with my managers where we discuss my progress and any extra help I may need which is really good. Also we have our half days for revision which is so helpful as we are able to really focus in that time on the revision we need to do.
From my experience so far I feel that I have received a reasonable amount of support from Fitch. However to begin with I did find the process a bit confusing and that certain things may have been miscommunicated. However I think overall we have received a lot of support from them.
They help me to preform better as they are able to offer advice on certain things from a different perspective to that of those who already work for the business. Therefore getting a different insight can help me to identify mistakes or to be able to perform in a different way which would be considered more suited to the role.
I have been to a few networking events which have been really fun and enjoyable. In addition I attend gym classes downstairs with some of my colleges as we have a gym in our building which is really great to have as without it, it's hard to find time to go.
Yes
I would because they are a really caring company to work for who look after their employees. Everyone helped and supported me so much when I first started and they still do today, which unfortunately a lot of other companies don't do therefore I would recommend it to a friend and I already have.
To research the industry so you know more about it and see whether it is the right place for you. Also to try and focus in assessments on attention to detail as that is a really important thing to be good at at Rothschild. Also to not be nervous as everyone is friendly and really nice.
