I am RSM and I looked after a portfolio of clients (businesses) who turnover 6.5M and above. I look after their day to day banking needs and support the RD in looking after the client. I also have a split role to be the whole teams Business development, researching businesses within our industries and region to perhaps onboard.
I have learnt many new skills such as reading accounts, generally broadening not only my banking knowledge but general knowledge about how companies are run successfully. It has developed my inter personal skills and increased my confidence not only through work but in myself as well. It has taught me a lot.
I am appreciative of the opportunities the program has opened up for me and allowed me to fast track into a advanced role within the company. The programme is hard, its tough trying to balance the work between a full time job, being a full time working single mother and studying, so not sure to what extent I would say I 'enjoy' it but I definitely appreciate it.
I wouldn't say that the programme is particularly well organized, I am in the third year of the course I am doing and it has subsequently been scrapped after me and revised into a better structured scheme. My course is exam based with no structure what so ever around when these exams are held, down to the individual which doesn't help with focus and means the cohort are all at different points in the scheme so is hard when needing help with certain areas.
My line manager is extremely supportive in respect to the study side of the apprenticeship, but other people who are in charge of the programme are not so supportive. When asking for additional help with the study as I was struggling there seemed to be a brick wall response, that if I couldn't do it on my own I shouldn't be on the programme.
A fair amount of support, regular calls to discuss my needs and if I ask for any extra support I will be given it. My coach is amazing, lovely woman and would always help me with whatever I asked for. Not sure the way the scheme is structured helps though.
Hard to say, different exams as part of the qual help in different ways. The first exam was too broad to be applicable to role but exams since then have been more helpful. would be better if it was essay based where by we could use our own experiences to refer to.
Not really, depends significantly on the area you are based in. When in London there is a lot of these types of events however outside of London these decline in frequency. the organization of these are highly dependent on the individual and the turnout if always less. would be good for more events held here.

Great place to work, with great people! Look after their staff extremely well and has great career progression opportunities. Fills me with Pride to work here. would recommend to anyone! So many different job opportunities here and social life too. develops person skills as well as work skills. includes benefits.
If you work hard here it pays off, your hard work is recognized and rewarded. Barclays allows for great social life outside of work, the people who work here make it. They are great people who are always happy to help you so use the people around you for support and advise.
