I am responsible for remediating business records, I have to make sure that our records match those on companies house. If the records dont match I have to contact the customer via email/letter and request further information from them. Whether this is a personal details form or an up-to-daye copy of there share register. I am given many responsiblities.
I have learnt many skills such as: Customer service- i am now very used to talking to customers on the phones and ensuring i remain proffesional throughout the whole phone call no matter how intense it may become. I have learnt how to act in a work place due the apprenticeship being my first "proper" job.
I enjoy the programme, There are few things that are difficult such as managing the workload, i work on a very very busy process which is fairly hard as an apprentice with little experience however in the long run I think this has prepared me well for future roles, and i think being thown in at the deep end has actually helped me.
The apprenticeship to be honest is very un-organised. I cant remember when i last had a meeting with our apprenticeship leader which is quite dissapointing as when we started we were informed that monthly 1-2-1's would take place, In terms of the coursework that was also very unorganised as we wouldnt be informed with a good notcie as of when we would be going to manchester to work with our trainers.
I receive a decent amount of support from the employer, such as HR services. i also believe barclays is one of the best places for rewards/discount privaledges. In terms of support to progress however i feel this is very little, we are supposed to have an hour a week off work for apprenticeship related work. I have never been allowed to take this since joining barclays. I also feel like they aren't helping me progress my career here.
Our trainer was very very good, she was always willing to help us. If we needed assictance at 11pm at night she was addament that we should give her a call and that she would provide us assitance with the query. She was also willing to come and visit us and provide help.
To be honest the qualification isn't at all relevant to our job role and wasn't needed. The qualification is business related and not banking which would obviously be beneficial. The course was good but unfortunately i cannot score is higher that a 1 due to it being completely irrelevant.
At our office there are many activities that you can take part in. We have a gym, astroturf and tennis pitches. football tournemants are often run as well as games nights. I do think that the Radbroke campus is exceptional and it would be hard to get use to another workplace as it cant be any better!
Yes
I think its a great company to work for, and the programme is great for someone new to the working enviroment. They provide brilliant finance packages for apprenticeships and also contribute a good amount to your pension. Its also a very safe business to work in and has lots of great members of staff.
Be open to different roles and learn the RISES for the interview! Be aware that a career can be developed here, there are lots of roles that your can internally apply for a year after being in your initial role, at my workplace alone there 200+ roles on the IJB
