Maintenance Engineer, carrying out planned maintenance activities, attending breakdowns, shadowing. Collecting required spare parts from 21 Stores or Guns and Grippers, knowing what tools and equipment are required for the job at hand.
Btec qualification, currently working on an NVQ level 3. I have learn various practical skills including milling, turning and hand fitting. Also, i can now follow pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical circuits. I can wire up a variety of domestic electrical installations, lighting and power circuits.
Personally, i enjoy what i do at work, i enjoy the team i work with and the whole environment that comes with it. My programme exceeds my expectations and i enjoy it thoroughly.
I feel sometimes i am not appreciated by some of the managers i come across. For example, for spending more than 20 minutes filling in a board for a manager, to receive nothing, not even a thank you i felt was quite rude to be honest. However, in other tasks in the past that i have done for people i feel they appreciated what i did for them, shook my hand etc.
The training and support that i have received was adequate, however i have missed out on two of my inductions into my placement, one wasn't set up and another i was ill for but was never re-arranged.
My training provider offers me enough support that I am satisfied with.
I have my managers phone number and i am able to contact him whenever i have a query or problem with something.
I feel that my pay is satisfactory, allowing me to live comfortably and save a little each month.
There are company events avaliable outside of work, all of this information is posted on the intranet.
