  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day to day activities include Doing work papers and speaking to stakeholders. Some days I take part in Citizenship activities and this can sometimes be outside the workplace and there are some activities that are run within the company such as a food bank. I also have to speak to stakeholders.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am currently developing my presenting skills. On the first few months that I started I worked on my communication skills and trying to become more comfortable with talking to anyone and everyone. Now I am much better at it. Additionally, I am developing my written communication skills also. I have learned how to do testing in an audit.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy it to a great extent because I have been given so much support and I am given the opportunity to take on big tasks. Additionally, I have been able to meet many different people and each person has taught me something different. Moreover, There is good flexibility in the job.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is structured well because the programme is for 3 years and we are given 3 rotations. Each rotation lasts for 1 year. Moreover, we have a rotation manager who is our manager for our team and we have a line manager who is our line manager for the whole apprenticeship and that means we are given plenty of support.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We have a rotation manager who is our manager for our team and we have a line manager who is our line manager for the whole apprenticeship and that means we are given plenty of support. Additionally, we are given training on different things such as mental health awareness and be well.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive support from Kaplan, they set me work to do and I have a talent coach who is ready to help me whenever I need help. In Addition, I am given help with maths and English if they feel like I am struggling with it. They help me develop over skills.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have better soft skill snow. I am now better when it comes to communicating and I have gained a lot of audit knowledge. Moreover, my talent coach checks in with me every few weeks. I am also being taught more about british values and how they are important to us.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are such as charity events. We are able to run these events. I was given the opportunity to run a foodbank. I enjoyed doing this as I was able to develop my communication skills aswell as my presenting skills. Moreover, I was able to raise awareness of the food bank.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Barclays because they have been very supportive since I started. Barclays is always trying to ensure I am happy and well as an apprentice. There are many platforms of support. Furthermore, We are given the chance to work flexibly. They encourage dynamic working such as working from home.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • I would say prepare well for the assessment centre, be prepared to step out of your comfort zone and really push yourself because once you do this you will be able to see good results. In Addition, don't worry about any skills you think you are lacking because Barclays will help you become the person you want to become.
