I am relationship support manager who looks after mid corporate professional services clients, this includes lawyers and solicitors. I assist the clients with day to day products and services. I work with a relationship director to help manage the portfolio and assist with on boarding new business. I go out to see clients once - three times in a week.
Yes my people skills and professional manner have increased a great deal since I started my role, this is due to the fact that I speak to clients on a regular basis and meet them face to face. The role has also made me feel more confident in speaking to clients around products and services.
The programme is a large amount of work and the role itself includes a large amount of admin, however, I do like the people I work with. The support from the early careers team could help support the programme a lot more. Overall I find the job okay but feel with extra support around job roles I would find it a lot more interesting.
As I mentioned above the scheme needs a more structured support team, it would be good to have support that found out what rotations are open for us to go to and support in finding the best option for us. It would also help to have a member if staff that understands the scheme and course in more detail.
The support around study time is good, as mentioned above we lack support in the area of placement and career development, the lack of this is a shame as it would help us find carers in which we can thrive at, in a timely way. The support from my line manager is okay.
LIBF provide very good support, they listen to al feedback and work with us to ensure we get the best support, it can be difficult at times as they have a large amount of students at different levels but they work through this in different ways and find support for all.
The qualification relates to the longer term career opportunities but is hard to relate to the role I carry out at this time. During the first year the qualification had little to do with the role which made it hard to relate to, in the second year it is better but still at a higher level.
Yes - the role allows us to meet with clients and attend networking events, These events can be run by the client or the bank. The team I work in runs a lot of social events at least 1 per quarter which helps get to know the team and other members based outside London
Yes
The bank has lots of opportunities and of course allows you to learn why you learn. You can make a good network and meet with lots of different people in different areas of the bank leading to a solid network in the banking industry to help progress in your career.
Barclays is a god organisation and welcomes all, be calm as they will provide good feedback if you are successful or not. Apply for a level that suits you Barclays offers lots of different levels in many business areas, look into the differ=rent areas and find the one that suits your personality.
