I take calls for retail customers on a day to day basis. This involves servicing their accounts and doing tasks such as transfers, managing direct debits and keeping their contact details up to date . As well as this I have study time which I used to prepare for the libf exam for banking and finance.
I have learned things about banking that I would have not otherwise known about for instance the different types. Processes that go on that most our customers don't realise or see for example disputes, fraud and indemnity claims. I have also developed my customer service skills as i am now more confident when speaking with others.
in the beginning i enjoyed my course a lot however i feel as though what the rle actually entailed as well as the work loud was sugar coated and fabricated to us. we weren't made aware of all the steps involved and what tasks we would specifically have to do.
i think the programme lacks a lot of structure as i was supposed to have completed my programme 3 months ago however i still haven't been signed off despite doing all the necessary work. i feel as though you aren't made aware of who to go to for guidance and even people such as team leaders and coaches are fully informed around the apprenticeship.
i think my employer and the programme provider are two worlds apart and aren't really interlinked. although my manager is very supportive and helpful she isn't informed about my apprenticeship which makes it hard for when i need help or when need to know what to do next.
we are offered support and materials however having sat the exam i feel as though the tips provided aren't similar to what the actual exam entails and could be a shock for others who learn with the materials provided. i feel as though more support could be provided when studying.
having a qualification is obviously a bonus however i dont feel as though it has helped me with my role as it is different to my everyday job. the main thing i learnt from my qualification was the payment systems and regulations. if anything the qualification hasn't helped me progress as i haven't moved up a level since i passed my qualification in February even though i was supposed to.
there is a sports and social team who provide discounted prices for days out, cinemas and shows. we have done charity events also in our teams and their did used to be a citizenship team. there may be other teams however they aren't made apparent or aren't advertised well.

i am unsure whether i would i wouldn't say its a terrible place t work however i would say it it the best i feel as though had i been made more aware of the environment and type of job i would have been doing i wouldn't of felt as big of a shock when i came out of training.
be prepare to wait a long time to start. the application process isn't the best, it it very long winded and not at all personal. it feels all very automate and computerised with email responses that are generic and can take weeks to come through if you have the time to wait for the responses then that's fine however if not it feels like it is a burden and huge amount of time. i am still waiting for feedback from an internal interview i done more than a month ago and havent had any contact or emails back from the people i have reached out to.
