I work within a data team where I have helped build reporting in Tableau and also am supporting with Project to support my Qualification, I support different elements of projects day to day. I also support citizenship activities across my team and encourage others to get involved in this also
Being able to analyse data, Building reports, admin skills and in office products, ability to gain L4 qualification, soft skills including team work and organisation, managing project and stakeholders, build schedule and project updates. I have also learnt interview and CV skills from training and wider team support and also presentation skills.
I have enjoyed my programme in particular to classroom training was a great opportunity to learn and meet new people, this has also been a chance to gain a learn skills no previously had however would prefer to be in no tech team as this would help support my qualification better.
The programme has been well structure however the QA qualification started late effecting time I can finish programme also needs to be more education to managers to allow necessary time and guidance with apprentices I believe the Barclays apprentice team lacked good communication with our course start dates which impacted us
I feel the support I have had could of been more sufficient as felt very unsure when I started and believe my manager didn't have the capacity to support and had to work off of my own back, Barclay's apprentice team support was adequate however could be improved
During my training weeks the trainer is very helpful and always available and sends out support documents however skills coaches are over stretched and have small capacity to support and are unclear on what they are doing especially when many skills coaches are leaving or lack skills to support us apprentices
I feel like the training has supported me to perform better and given me knowledge and skills to do so however not properly being in a project team means this may be less valuable. But I felt the training was interactive pitched at the right level but could do with more revision sessions toward the end
Yes always lots of event going on and clubs to join however no Tech apprentice network which is a shame and Barclays apprentice team lacked commitment to doing this compared to the Graduate scheme network where they have a good knit network and support ect compared to the apprentice cohorts
Yes
Barclays overall is a good company to work for lots of benefits and always support however need to improve on apprentice scheme management and support , there are also lots of opportunities to progress in Barclays or move to other teams and develop skills and also many programmes you can join after apprentice roll off
Be prepared for changes in environment and culture depending where you have come from and ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to speak up or ask questions when you are unsure. Engage with other teams and colleagues and network to enable you to progress and gain skills and knowledge in new areas
