Role involves supporting a branch of 15 colleagues to deliver a great customer experience. Looking at simple day to day transactions and also more in depth customer interactions supporting short and long term needs. Looking to increase business growth by considering external opportunities. Keep branch operationally sound and help improve Barclays brand.
Have only recently started apprenticeship but as part of the degree apprenticeship programme it has really encouraged me to broaden my thinking. It can become easy in the branch to just be very focused on short term and interacting with colleagues and customers, the apprenticeship has allowed me to take a step back and think about Barclays as a company and business influences.
I enjoy interacting with different colleague across different areas to look at how different people view and handle situations. Working in projects has enabled me to enhance leadership skills in areas that I am not an expert in. I have also enjoyed learning from academic teachers that don't get caught up ion day to day activities of Barclays.
Very organised and structured. I have been clear from the start around expectations and what is coming next. I receive regular communication from the university and also my personal tutor to ensure that I am on track and also have support offered if required. The university are very quick to reposnd when required.
I receive a lot of support from my employer as they enable to me to attend regular study breaks which is a big chunk out of day to day work. Also allowed regular study time away from work. Employer also encouraged the apprecticeship to happen in the first place.
A lot all university tutors respond and are committed to your development. I have been assigned a personal tutor who responds regularly and is also very proactive in reaching out to me to ensure that I am on track with completing my mapping for portfolio. ALos from course leader regular contact.
It emnbales me to try different leadership styles and allows me to focus on my career management which I would not normally do on a regular basis. I can then pass on my personal learns to the team so they can grow and become better for our customers and colleagues.
As a branch we sometimes have social activities if there is a celebration or event. It depends on these beign arranged and what different group- ie if it is ona branch level, area level, regional level or even leadership level. There are professional networking events that you can reach out to be involved in.
