  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • our work experience involved the repair of the laptops that get sent in from customers, these laptops are the laptops that get sent in from customers that purchased their laptops for currys/pc world. Also in our work experience we had to go through the training of how to be safe in this environment

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • i have gained the skills to repair different problems that can occur with customers laptops. these repairs can include fixing the screens, fixing the other internal components and even external components, as in the casing of the laptops. in the training lap we have gone through the health and safety training.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • i really enjoyed the work experience and that is because i have gained a lot of knowledge, this knowledge will help me understand more about laptops but also in a future career i am able to go straight into a laptop admin job with the knowledge that i have gained.

  • at the start of the work experience i have to admit that it was very unorganised and that is because all of the trainers ran out of options in terms of what training we need. also when we went into the main section of the work experience it was difficult getting a working unit.

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • i have learnt a ton about dixons carphone and the goals that they sent for their employees, in terms of working for dixons carphone i believe that working here would be very enjoyable as i have witnessed all of the good parts of this job, for example your colleagues are very nice.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • My work experience has helped me decide that i want a future in anything that involves technology and this is because dixons carphone has taught me that i do not need to be under so much pressure when it comes to the repair of the laptops but on the other-hand they put on a little pressure to make sure that you achieve your best.

  • yes we was paid for the work experience and i think that is a good idea because it makes us more motivated to do more work but also having that cash will help with us getting to the actual workplace as the work experience can be difficult to get to for some people.

  • dixons carphone have their own system that they have introduced and that is called workplace, workplace allows you to chat and meet with other colleagues. but also allows you to share what you have in common with the other colleagues. For example their is a games page where people share their gaming experiences.

  • Yes

  • i would reccomend this work place to a friend because i b elive that dixons carphone gives you the best experience and the best knowledge when it comes to the technology that is sold in currys/pcworld. also dixons carphone treat their eomplyees with respect and give them the perks they need to get to work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Dixons Carphone?
  • i would advise them to try their best. and not to give up but even if the applicants try their best and have some faults, im sure that dixons carphone will see past them and look for the best in people. also try to get some previous work experience before applying to do this job
