Our experienced involving training with laptops and notebooks, faults and causes of faults to then diagnose and repair them. We work in a lab of several hundreds other technicians who take in customer units that are faulty and fix them. We work with both new and old units, all of which have service arrangements with KNOWHOW. These dictate what arrangements the units can be repaired under. Different SA mean that units can only have certain repairs under certain conditions. SA10 or manufacturers warranty allows the replacement of external batters, whereas an SA 50 care plan does not.
I learned the ins and outs of many different types of notebooks and laptops, each with varying models, BIOS versions, operating systems and other different applicable aspects. We learn how to DMI motherboards so they're fit to use, how to replace compoents that are faulty and how to further help the customer take care of their notebook once the repair is completed. In terms of skills, you learn interpersonal, intercommunication, technical and analytical skills.
I enjoy it because it helps me choose a career path after the contract expires. it met everything i could've imagined and although it can be stressful following correct procedure when needing to get laptops fixed, it can be refreshing to remember that these are customer units, and we hold a lot of responsibility over them. I enjoy the thrill of finding units that are both easy and difficult as it balances the work load.
Pretty well organised. We had several months to prepare and then additional months working in a closed off section of the business to train as a member of the main task-force. During this time it was organised on how we would be implemented into the lab and how we were assigned job roles in doing so. There were some issues with organising it as at the start of our contract there were shifts in management, and it took longer to organise.
The company employs a variety of cultural and ethnically backing, meaning there were many people there of backgrounds that were not my own. This made me feel more welcome as it shows the company is able to hire people from many different countries. This shows that the people and the atmosphere there were not racially dominated and was split across multiple ethnicity.
I've chosen to apply for a further advancement into the apprenticeship scheme that KnowHow offer. it is well paying for someone of my age, and offers many opportunities to advance in the future. I feel the guidance received here will help me dramatically improve my future. Very well respective and very well enjoyable.
Yes. I am paid hourly every day i worked for 7.5 hours of work two days a week. For a part time employment, it is very worth it. I learnt plenty of skills however there was the cost of travel and using up my time off from college to work instead.
Yes, it branches out worldwide and offers multiple different areas for people to become employed or work towards. different areas in the work place also help me to choose what areas i would like to switch to if given the choice. personally i would like to spend some time with the tv section.
