Team member Review

I am a team member which means I have to make sure to arrive on time as our day is quite busy. I help out in the kitchen in the mornings preparing yoghurts and then I jump on the till after breakfast, serving customers. Others things I do during the day is cleaning around the shop

I have learnt how to serve customers quickly as during rush hour customers are usually rushing to work. I have also started learning how to make certain kinds of coffees which I’m still developing as it takes time to master and present a very good coffee but with fast speed

I actually really enjoy this programme as I get to earn money and learn on the side. I wouldn’t say that it is an easy job as this job takes commitment and passion but it can also be a very enjoyable job with friends for a lifetime. This programme also shows you behind the scenes like where we get the food from (the farm) and there are trips to the warehouse

I think the structure is as good as it can be at the moment as this programme/apprenticeship is still pretty new and being trialed. However the apprenticeship/programme leaders are doing a very good job to collect as much feedback as possible to make sure it is a good experience for everyone

I am super lucky to be working in a pret shop with such amazing and supportive people who want to see me shine and achieve the best of my potential. They let me know kindly if I am doing something wrong and how I can improve it to better myself

I receive tons of support from my training provider whilst I’m working towards my qualification. This is important to receive this kind of help as the programme/ apprenticeship can be challenging to comprehend. However, with a supportive training provider everything that you learn will stick with you and should be a breeze

Whilst learning the business side with my training provider and working at the same time allows me to perform my job better in a way as I think that it gives me a better understanding on how Pret A Manger works. It is not an easy job and you have to be prepared

There are a lot of social activities to get involved in while working in a Pret A Manger. If you get along with your team -which I really think you will- you will be invited to a numerous of social activities. For example going cinema, out on a Friday night etc

I think it is a good idea for someone to work in Pret A Manger because it is a very enjoyable job and it makes you want to please the customers because you are treated so well in this company. Plus you get free, delicious, organic, fresh food so why would you complain

I would tell the person to go for it and not hesitate because most likely they will adore the job and the money is not that bad. Also to make sure to set an alarm if you are an early bird as being on time is very important as you are needed
