My role is serving customers on a day to day basis and to provide a service to our customers in regards to managing their bank accounts and assisting with any enquiries or problems they may experience. This can vary from simple issues such as checking balances and daily transactions, to setting up and enrolling customers onto online banking.
I have had the opportunity to further develop my customer service skills along with picking up additional skills along the way. For example, the way in which i initially speak to customers and approach them has vastly improved. Working at RBS and both working through my apprenticeship has helped to improve my time management skills and has taught me how to speak with courtesy along with developing my telephone manner.
I enjoy all aspects of the programme which includes the fundraising aspect, where i had to plan and carry out a charity event for the children's hospital as a way to help my community. I enjoy the fact that i am in a position where i'm able to help people on a day to day basis.
I am made aware of my assignments in advance and my mentor provides me with additional and time if i require it. I am taken through what the task is and how i should go about completing it step by step. My manager also provides me with the time i need to complete my apprenticeship tasks by arranging for time off the phones.
My employer gives me the support and time off the phones that i need to complete my apprenticeship workload. They also provide me with regular feedback and set targets for me to push past so i can better manage my workload and cope with both the job and the apprenticeship.
Time off the phones, regular coaching and feedback. I also have workplace adjustments in place to help me better manage in my role.
it allows me to recognize and remember the importance of how i operate in my role. Each assignment I do, every task, every customer I serve is a constant application of the knowledge and skills which i have learnt and developed both from the apprenticeship and on the job as well.
We have team meals and some team based activities to be done in our own individual teams on the floor
