Day to day, I would perform controls testing and complete EGAs for a wide range of audits. This would usually be under the direction and supervision from the team in London. I would usually perform testing of IT General Controls, for banking and capital markets and London Top Tier clients.
Yes, I have learnt a wide range of new skills since I began my course, both on and off the job. First and foremost, I leant how to perform IT General Controls testing. However, I also developed my people skills, working ina professional environment teaches you a whole lot, compared to school.
I thoroughly enjoy the programme. I get paid, get experience and get a qualification from it. The work itself is also rewarding and challenge. Working with some of the biggest clients in the world really helps bring about a sense of purpose to the importance of the work we do.
In general, I think the programme was well structured. We were given a clear and simple timetable, showing us when our study and exam dates were. Everything was laid out for us clearly, including the policy outlining what would happen in the event that you failed any of the exams.
We receive a lot of support from our employer to enable us to complete the course. For 3 of the 6 exams, we had a tutor come in and teach us the content, for which we were given time off work. For the other 3 exams, these were self taught, and we were also given sufficient time.
The training provider was always on hand to provide support when it was required. They had various services that were available to use, if you felt the need to do so. The tutor's would respond promptly to any questions, and there was a live chat service available to assist.
There was a module that we had to complete as part of the C F A B, that was very relevant to my day to day role. The Assurance module really helped me consolidate my knowledge on the work i perform, this in turn has helped me perform better in my role
Yes. PwC has a lot of extra curricular activities. There are a lot of clubs and teams that you could get involved in. There is something for everyone, with sports teams for more active people, drama clubs and social teams for people who would like to get involved in that type of thing.
Yes
