On a day-to-day basis, I work with my team members to conduct an audit. We prepare relevant documents, testing controls and operations. I interact with stakeholders on a regular basis to provide an update. I am given the same amount of responsibilities as other team members. Every project is different but I learnt a lot out of it!
Absolutely! I have developed my listening skills and understood that it is important for an auditor to have strong listening skills as they listen to stakeholders who provide essential information. I have developed my confidence as I have learnt the appropriate way of giving constructive feedback to senior members. In addition, a new skills that I have learnt is influencing skills and methods to use when influencing stakeholders.
I really enjoy my programme. It is something new that I didn't even know that it existed in the bank. The team that I am currently in have been really supportive and understand that I am new this role. I am given different opportunity of trying something new which is great!
I believe the programme is structured well for example, I have the opportunity to work in 3 different teams whether its a function or operational team. Also, the amount of time within that team is no too long neither too short. The programme is a combo of gaining experience and gaining knowledge.
I have received a lot of support so far from my team and my employers. I attending training session which prepared me before joining an Audit team. These sessions provided sufficient knowledge to conduct an audit and any additional knowledge that I need clarity on, I was able to get from my team members.
I get enough support during training. For example, recently I attended a training session which quite a package. However, we were given an hour to notes all that we have learnt, this helped use to make notes that we could use in our professional qualification. Also, there was clear guidance of how to complete the qualification.
Completing a qualification helped to perform better in my role as it made me confident in the responsibility that I am carrying out. The qualification based on your knowledge and I am satisfied with the knowledge and training that was provided to me and this made it easier for me to complete my qualification.
Yes there is well being activities that is out there which I really admire as this share amongst my team and other teams. There is a professional networking event that I attend when possible and it is very good as it gets all apprentices together to discuss and share about their area of work.
Yes
I have recommend Barclays to a friend as I am astonished how they integrate their values intro everyday tasks. There is so much opportunity that allows you to learn more not only in one area but many. The staff are absolutely fantastic and supportive which will make you feel comfortable.
I would tell them to be themselves and grab every opportunity that is available. Don't be afraid of being yourself because that is what makes you different, what makes you stand out. Also, consider looking into Barclays values and think out where you might have used theses in any situations.
