My role involves taking calls from colleagues and assisting them wih them. Generally the calls consist of mandate related queries because im on the mandate change colleague line. This is my 2nd day of the job so i can't really give you much to go from but so far its pretty good.
I have developed many new skills from being an implimentation manager, such as how to follow a diary based system with colleagues, ensureing we dont double book appointments, trying to juggle inbound and outbound calls, it can be a challenge at times but its very rewarding when you are left with satisfied customers.
i dont enjoy the programme what so ever. i wish i never applied for an apprenticeship because it seems to never end, im still ongoing and because i have not passed my exam, theres no way for me to finish the apprenticeship so i need a way to proceed because its getting stale now.
its not very organised in the slightest, it took us 6 months to be signed on after starting at Barclays, after which it took a further 3-4 months to recieve the textbook. this alongside a very poorly structured learning system meant it was impossible to reach the pass deadline and is very hard
i dont receive enough support from my employer, i dont think its down to them though, i believe it feeds through the channels, the actual individuals who are responsible for supporting me are not, in my opinion, interested enough in the programme, if they're not interested, how can we be interested!
same as last time, not much support what so ever. its hard because it means we're setting up to fail. it doesnt get easier either, the longer the time goes on, the less support we receive. ive been waiting 12 weeks for a simple response from a director, of which ive chased 4-5 tiems.
it doesn't, if anything it demotivates me. i'd rather be paid the same as everyone else and not have to deal withthe apprentice work and exams. it's a waste of time, im not here to do the same work and be paid less, it's insulting to say the least.
outside of covid 19 yes there have been some activities but i cant remember the last time we had one, so its been a while. it was fun when we had them but as of yet there is yet to be one. it's probably been a good 6 months since we did a sports day event.
Yes
I would reccomend barclays, just not the apprenticeship. the employer is okay, they look after you as a person, but that drops off once help is needed with the apprenticeship, it's demoralising knowing you need to be noticed to get help, you can't just ask and expect the help, you have to ask and ask and ask and keep asking
Apply for a BA3 or higher, do NOT apply for any form of apprenticeship because it will come back to bite you, the amount of money in wages ive missed out on because of the BA2 wage is hard the think about, i'd much rather the higher wage over the stress of passing an exam.
