My day to day role involves sending emails, making phone calls with clients and colleagues. During ym day i mainly prepare capital allowances reports, send it off to someone of a higher grade, get it reviewed and send it back. I also have to manage my own projects and ensure my time is used efficiently
As part of the apprenticeship, i under take the ATT professional qualifications where i have learnt about tax. PwC also provides us with lots of training, especially in the first month of being at the firm. I have learnt a lot about capital allowances and how to write professional emails to clients
I enjoy the work that i do, even though at times it may get a bit repetitive so a bit of change would be good. I have integrated with my team well and got to meet lots of new people across the firm. The company does meet my expectations. Overall, yes i enjoy it.
The induction programmes are very good as they provide us with a deep insight into the firm and various social events to get to know the team. We have regular formal training to keep our knowledge up to scratch. however i dont think we have enough college days before our final exams.
As i work for quite a small team, there is an exceptional level of support from colleagues and managers. We also have buddies who help us with any little questions we have. We get a fair sharing of work form manager across the region. we get alot of assistance with any problems we may have. Overall, support is good.
There isnt much formal help from the firm in regards to our professional qualification as it is all dependent on college days, but mainly is down to self study after work. We could of been provided with a few more days of study before the exam in order to get out knowledge up to scratch and secure the pass
My role doesn't really have much to do with the professional qualification as i work in a niche area of tax whereas the qualification is for general tax. I dont think the professional qualification helps me with my every day role and i think another qualification would be a bit better.
yes, we have monthly drinks with the whole firm which helps to build networks. we also have regular social events like escape rooms, pizza making and other things. these are very helpful as it helps us speak to people that you usually wouldn't. these social events are across the whole firm rather than your usual team.
Yes
PwC is a great firm to work for with lots of opportunities to progress and try new things. With lots of support throughout. they provide lots of training and support to make the process as easy and as smooth as possible. they also try their best to keep the work interesting throughout.
i would advise new joiners to be prepared for a lot of hard work as you have to work all day and make sure you pass your exams, but along side all the hard work it can be a lot of fun with lots of social events and different opportunties.
