Parts Quality Technician Containment of high severity issues, Initial defect communication with suppliers, returning parts, PQM and the 8D process I am responsible for powertrain, driving dynamics and bracket and fixings.
HNC Level 4 – Mechanical Engineering – July 2014 BTEC Level 3 – Mechanical Engineering – July 2011 NVQ Level 3 – Engineering Technical support (Quality Control) – March 2013 NVQ Level 2 – Performing Engineering Operations (Engineering Practices) – July 2011 City and Guilds Level 2 – Engineering Manufacturing Technology - July 2011 I have learnt many things that I am now using in my role as a technician such as manufacturing techniques.
I have very much enjoyed my program. Myself and 2 other apprentices were on the same program and enjoyed working together. I think the company culture could have been improved slightly as the placement side of the apprenticeship could have been impoved. However, i have not come across anybody who has reactred negativly to me being an apprentice.
I feel very valued. My manager and team ask my opintion on matters. our leaving cerimony was attended my the manufacturing director which made me feel important. I have been involved in many projects outside of work promoting the brand that i have enjoued.
Our induction was brilliant, a week at Skern lodge, meeting other apprencies form across the group. Training could ahve been organised better, our college was not the most organised place. support form my manager was very good and he always took an intrest in my work. I was given space and time to study at work. I think overall it was well organised with a few negatives.
Some tutors at college were very helpful providing extra help via Blackboard (college intranet site) others did not seem to care as much. The support was however sometimes hard to access as you had to repeatidly ask to be shown somehting.
I recieved a good amount of support form everyone at work. See above comments.
My salary was fair and increaced over the 4 years. It would always be nice to get more money but it did meet all my basic costs of living.
I took part in many events aoutside of work; visiting schools, Festival of Speed and other events.
Yes
Because I think it is the best way to get a carrear rather than a job. I have recomended it to a friend and he is also an apprentice too.
Do your research as it can help alot in an interview.
