  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • 360 apprentice so my programme rotates around different departments and therefore I don't really have a day to day routine. Some days I am working from a client site and other days ill be working from my home office. I have been given a variety of tasks to complete.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since joining the apprenticeship I have developed both my communication skills as well as my organisational skills. Recently I have been involved in a complex audit which was made up of multiple entities and therefore I had to make sure I acted in an organised manner to make sure the work was completed

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as ive met many different people whilst rotating which has therefore meant I have built up my pool of contacts. This will benefit me as I will be building new connections and therefore when I progress through my career I will have these people to help me in my future.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of my programme is good and you do feel you know as to where you will be going in the future. However sometimes as you don't always know where the next rotation is until a lot closer to the exam you can feel unsure as to where your career is heading.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel I receive lots of support from my employer. I have received 1 week of introduction training to the firm as well as 7 days specific to audit which is the rotation I am currently in. I also know I have further training planned in the future and therefore feel supported.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a great amount of support when it comes to my qualifications. I receive multiple revision days to help me prepare for my upcoming exams as well as lots of training to help develop my skills which will help towards my exams. Also I receive days for tuition and reflective statements.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel my qualification helps me to a certain extent in my job on a day to day basis. However some of the content you learn is different to that of what you actually do on a day to day basis as everything in the text book isn't a true reflection on true life.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have been involved in lots of different social activities. I have attended many team drinks where you get to socialise with the rest of your team in a non work environment and its nice to build relationships with the colleagues you work with on a day to day basis

  • 9a. Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Dependant on what you would like to do with your future KPMG is a great way to start a career. The firm in general is a really nice to work with some great employees benefits as well as amazing people who you will work with daily. There is always support when you need it.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • Be yourself in the application stage. If you try and be a person you think KPMG wants this will show through and this will damage your chances. KPMG is made up of lots of different people with lots of different backgrounds and are always looking for new fresh people to bring ideas to the business
