  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Each day varies depending on what projects are happening within the business. This could include initial scoping meetings, or finalising launch plans. I work within different teams and I am often based from different sites. I typically work an 8 hour day, 8 - 4.30 ish. Weekend work is involved if we have a particular event on.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Definitely! I started with very few project specific skills. From uni, I had picked up basic team working and leadership, but no direct styles of management. I can now work within Agile, Waterfall and PRINCE to deliver projects. My leadership has developed a lot to, I think this comes naturally with a lot of project roles.

  • I enjoy all aspects of my role. I am challenged yet always supported. I am encouraged to take on more, and to take on different projects to broaden my knowledge. This makes the role exciting. • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We had an enrolment session and were given all the dates for our workshops and mentor visits. All our programme is also available online, so that you can access at any point and log in to see your own progress as well as what is coming next. This makes the programme feel organised and structured, and allows you to be proactive with your working.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I always feel supported. I have a direct line leader who I have catch ups with almost daily, as well as my formal 1 to 1 each week. I then have other leaders across departments I have been working in that I can always go to for support and guidance.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Babington have all their material online which you can access whenever. Their mentor visits every 6 - 8 weeks, as well as a virtual skype call or catch up monthly. They're quick to respond to emails, and also help with adhoc issues if I ever have any. If my mentor is away, someone else from Babington checks in.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Pendragon to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I enjoy my role and feel like I am in an environment where I can grow and challenge myself. The business encourages internal progression, and I feel I would be supported when I am ready to make my next step in my career. They also recognise when perhaps you need extra support or guidance.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pendragon?
  • Read up on the company and plan your career pathway! As Pendragon recognise internal talent and encourage progression, having a long term goal with the company is good to have! They recognise potential as well as performance, so I think it would be an advantage to recognise where you are now and where you'd like to go.
