  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently my role is leading a new moment banking team. I support their team leader and he is off at the moment so I am solely responsible for their development. this includeds their weekly catch ups, 5* call levelling and general team leader duties. I also look after attrition for virtual channels in Liverpool

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I came straight out of my A levels into this program so my skill set was very low. Over the 8 months so far I have developed massively as a person and a furture leader fo the bank. the main skill that I have developed is responsibility as I have been given some important project to look after which involves managing stakeholders.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The company culture is great and I really think that barcalys truly represents its value. In terms of ow it meets my expectation I expected their to be a bit more of a structure the program as its down to us to try and find our own rotations. For me I enjoy that but I know some struggle as its about who you know not what you know

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the overall idea of the program is amazing, giving people the opportunity to study for a degree and the CMI statud while building your work expeirnce in leadership roles in great. However, in practice in Liverpool contact centre not all of the higher leadership understand our program and how it works, which results in confusion as to what we are allowed to do

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I cant fault the support that I egt from Barclays, my team leader is on the fast track program so he understands the elements and development. I also have regular calls with my career coach so discuss my development and what project I have been given. However I do believe more support is needed in accomadating people. I had to move from peterborough to Liverpool and was given no support - this was due to their being no space in the Cambridge branch.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I think the support that is given from ARU is great. If you ever need any support or gudience with your reports they are always willing to help or arrange a call. they are also very supportive if w have any concern in work which isn't really their responsibility. They treat you as individuals rather than just a student

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • thorough the use of resources that we have learnt in uni I have used them in work, such as the learning styles questionnaire. this has enabled me to gain an insight into the team I am looking after and understand them as individuals and tailor my 121's and catch ups with them.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not that I have been informed about, which is shame because I am big into my sports and would love to get involved. There are things like the sports and social owever we're not told a lot of information about that. I would like to see more opportunities for us at networking events also
