My role as a Junior Change Manager means that i work below my Line Manager who is the Small Change manager within my department. I work with her on a daily basis and i have recently started to manage my own projects with her overlooking to ensure that i complete everything apropiately.
Since joining Barclaycard i have learnt many new skills whether this is down to my day to day job or within my QA course. I have learnt many new Microsoft skills which would be my man amount of skills learnt especially down to some of the work i was completing on data analysis.
My programme has been massively enjoyable throughout and i have not got any complaints as to how i have been treated. The opportunities which my role has provided me has allowed me to enjoy my role more that i would of if the opportunities where not provided. This is mainly down to my Line Manager.
Initially the structure of the apprenticeship wasn't to great because it took a long time to get my training provider sorted and we as apprentices felt like we was abit stuck in limbo waiting to find out what we would actually be doing. Once this was sorted my apprenticeship has been massively positive.
My Line Manager is available at all times to provide me support if i request it and even when i don't request support she is always asking whether she can help me out or if i need anything. I also get quite abit of support from my Careers coach.
My training provider has been really helpful in assistance with me. However, there has been some issues with communication as at times i ahve had to ask 2-3 before i get a reply from them and in some cases i don't get one. However my career's coach from QA has always been willing to help and massively supportive.
I feel that my qualification has helped me within my role due to the fact i have completed a Business course which then allows me to use certain techniques in my day to day role. This was evident when i showed my director how to use a Power Interest grid.
Yes, my work often offers many different activities which employees can get involved with. This was most evident when myself and another colleague won a competition to play at Old Trafford as part of a Barclays football match. This was all free for employees to enter with all expenses paid.
Yes
Barclays has been really supportive throughout my journey and has allowed me to expand my knowledge of the working world. I know have 18 months experience of working within the banking sector and this will provide me a great platform in my future career knowing that i have had this experience.
When applying for Barclays i would make sure that you have another job whilst applying as the process can take quite a long time to complete as i initially applied in August and didn't start until the end of January. Therefore i would ensure that you have another source of income duirng this process.
