My role at the company involved dealing with customers on a daily basis, being the point of sale and handling money, working stock, managing staff and being responsible for the running of shifts, handling the safe completing cash audits and also doing safe handovers correctly. Also training and teaching new staff
I have learnt how to manage a group of staff and the best way in order to be fair to all and still get the jobs done, I’ve learnt how to deal with customers and any issues they may have and how to work in a part of a team.
I really enjoy this programme because although there is work outside of work to complete it is delivered brilliantly by the tutors and is manageable even under 40 hour work weeks, the tutors also help in any way that they can weather it be with workload or outside of work issues.
I believe that the programme is well structured as completing all work over a 3 year period is easily manageable and also gives time in store to learn how to manage and becoming a manager along side the course work that is also required with it, pacing it very well.
With any help that I require my employer is more than happy to help weather it be work within store or work to do with my coursework, my employer also completes work along side my course giving my tutor updates on how I am doing and the progress that I am making.
With any help that I need my tutor is more than happy to help, he is an email away should I have any queries about the questions given to me or we also have professional discussions over the phone should I need a referral on any answers I have submitted.
I feel it is a massive help within my role as the points me and my tutor go through very often come up within the work environment and when I am faced with an issue even though I may not have dealt with before I have gone through it work my tutor beforehand.
Within work they do yearly football tournaments for charity which all staff are welcome to participate in, they also have out of work get together for staff for them to have a closer bond and a much better working environment as everyone in the store is close and all get along well.
Yes
Aldi is a great place to work, there are many opportunities for going up within the company, the staff are all very kind and great to work with, management are always there to help with any issues you may have whether big or small and the pay rate beats most of not all retail competitors.
Show that you have a serious interest in the store, show that you are eager to learn and the more questions you ask the better, always look up to and follow the higher managers and learn from them as much as you can early on to set yourself up for an easier promotion should you seek it.
