  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • i have worked on several teams within my office and no matter what team i have worked on my day to day job involves resolving errors made in branches and investigating to find a resolution. i talk with postmasters and work with others teams whilst investigating and aim to leave the customer leaving with a positive experience and feeling like they have been listened to.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i feel i am a much more confident person as ii have grown as a person over my time of being here. I feel i have adapted my literature as going from a Level 2 to a Level 3 NVQ i have had to include much more detail. I am an independent worker and i thrive to achieve the best i can. I have continue to put myself forward for anything to develop my skills and show i am hard working and want to progress.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i have enjoyed my Level 3 programme as i feel it has helped me develop as a person, i had to sit an ICT exam and therefore this improved my ICT skills. I have also been able to buddy others as part of my units and therefore have shared my knowledge and assisted when necessary. All in all i feel my knowledge has widened and i have enjoyed being able to develop myself whilst doing this.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • i feel my programme has been well organised as i have always had the support there if necessary. My tutor visits once a month to check our progress and complete observations. When work is marked and changes are given back to be made to then ensure your work is completed to the best standard it can be. Finally, i feel that the Post Office (FSC) has really helped me as i have been able to do so much and all the support has been there the whole way through - especially from my mentor who is always making sure we are on the right track!

  • i have received a lot of support from my employer, i have been able to be involved in so many exciting opportunities which i feel has benefited me as i can show the dedication i have for my job. Team leaders i have been under have support me such as helping me revise for exams or completing witness testimonies to support my units. My mentor has always supported me and always wanted the best for myself and ensured i perform to the best of my ability. • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i feel that both my Level 2 Customer Service NVQ and my Level 3 Business Admin NVQ have helped me perform better as there are guidelines and acts i am always refreshing myself with. Also, when i am completing units i can see how much i am demonstrating behaviours and it shows how much i do within FSC that links with my NVQ. Finally, any units i am unsure about i will raise and ensure something is done to achieve completion

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Post Office?
  • i would advise anyone applying to the Post Office especially if through an apprenticeship to push yourself as much as you can. The more you get yourself involved the better chance you have of being able to develop yourself but also be recognised. I feel that by getting involved it helps your development and widens your knowledge.
