My role is currently working between the change team and the contact hub team. in my role for the contact hub, I work on strategies to contact customers in the most effective way. Mt role in the change team is signing off change before it gets rolled out to colleagues, I need to ensure it is fit for purpose.
I have learnt many new skills since joining the scheme. In the academic side I am learning everything from scratch as I have never done a degree before so writing assignments etc are all new skills I have learnt. In work I am learning new skills and enhancing skills every day
I love every minute of the program and feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to take on this degree. Although it can be a lot of pressure working and doing degree, I know the hard work will pay off. The exposure in the business I would never have normally got.
Now I am doing it, it is very well organised. Anglia Ruskin run the course fantastically. in the beginning when I was signing up for the programme it was very disjointed from the Barclays career team and I was often left unsure of what steps I had to take next.
I am very lucky in that I get a lot of support from my employer. I have a HR contact who supports me, a degree course leader in Barclays and also my line managers support. I have have a good network of colleagues who are doing the same course and we all support each other.
The support from Anglia Ruskin is amazing. All of the tutors are happy to offer any support needed and are always at the end of the phone. I have a personal tutor from the uni as well who has regular one to one' with me to ensure I am managing ok.
feel that I am already seeing the benefits of the degree in work even though I am only 1 year in. I have learnt so much regarding stakeholders, networking, my own career management. The skills I have learnt are giving me the confidence to go forward in work and take on new challenges
Yes work does have extra curricular activities, we do a lot of charity work and events as well as training programmes that are not necessarily relevant to role but are a good to have. We do have sports team and joint gym sessions available for colleagues as well which is great.
Yes
fantastic company with amazing benefits and opportunities. I have worked for Barclays for ten years now and have learnt so many skills both for work here and that are transferable to my personal/social life and could take to new employment. They give so many opportunities and really encourage their staff to grow
Make sure you prep well as the hard work you put into preparing for the interview will pay off when you get employment. Barclays is a job for life and a lot of people once in Barclays stay here until retirement. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else. great place to work
