The day to day task change depending on the job that I have been placed onto, my responsibilities include a variety of different aspects of construction. The major time consuming task I have to carry out is concreting, this task is mainly used for reinstating grounds of which we have to do after a job has been completed but other tasks consist of pipelaying, drainage and other jobs needing to be completed to improve the water industry.
I have developed many skills one being my social skills massively during the duration of the apprenticeship this has helped me outside the job with different encounters. skills that I have developed are constriction based in order to get a job completed to the right standard, to suit the client. another existing skill that I have developed is coping well under pressure, as when I have been given a task that needs to be completed in a certain time period I work well under the time pressured experience,
I thoroughly enjoy working on site, this is due to the work morale on site with other operative making me feel welcome and comfortable whilst I am at work. The other reason why I enjoy the apprenticeship Is because I enjoy being outdoors and being hands on with my job role.
I believe that the organisation of the programme is very well, this is because of the balance of both the practical work which is on site and the theory work of which is classroom based. This balance helps me progress in my apprenticeship and better my construction knowledge overall in a good way.
I receive a lot of support from my employer, when I started my apprenticeship we was given a mentor in order to help us with out site work and ensure what we was doing is safe and done to proper satisfactory. with out classroom based work we are also supported massively by Bentleys.
I receive all the support I need from the training provider, my tutor gives all his effort into my classwork ensuring I understand what the class I about and what are goals are. if I get stuck he gives me all the time I need in order to understand the topic.
the work I do with my training provider gives me a deeper insight in to the jobs that are taken out on site, as we go through things in detail. by writing down the work i do on site and learning why and how ad what could go wrong helps me better myself during site work.
there is football games that take part between Bentley teams which helps boost morale for the operatives on site. also there are other sporting events to suit all including rugby, badminton etc. there are also social events of which Bentleys out together for their employees to celebrate there achievements during that year.
