Managing the business performance, governance, objectives and colleague agenda for a portfolio within the business. Working closely with senior stakeholders and managing daily calls. Interactions with both senior exec and colleagues working at entry level roles. Large scale project being the conduit between different teams pulling together business updates for the business.
new skills in looking at how i manage my career and the future prospects through the university degree. able to share self analysis with manager to help with my own growing into roles. able to find a role that better suits my personality. better fit with holistic view of business now also
the programme is good, good that ring fenced time is made by the business and that focussed away sessions are carried out. the training is pitched at the right level for more experienced memebers of the group and allows for discussion to be focussed and pitched at the right levels.
in general the structure is good, there could be better organisation using study blocks to focus on the next due assignment - the assignments although difficult do relate closely to real life work examples which helps both understanding and the influence that can be then given back to the business - new ideas are clearly explained
the employer is fully supportive, allowing two days off per month for study time as well as adhoc time to take part in group activity etc. actively encouraged to share learning back to the organisation and there is time and slots to do this. employers are excited by the opportunity
the university is excellent in giving support, always ensuring that you feel supported and you are able to raise any issues confidentially with them and they then feed that back into the business if required. the level of teaching is of a very high standard and engagement with students is very professional
my role is developing in line with the university course, the material is relevant to the work i do day to day and i can clearly apply new learning to my day to day work life. encouraged to share learning and qualifications with peers to help them grow also in their roles
across the business extra curricular activities are in place but are very siloed - specific areas have specific budget and are open to select groups of employees. in general the only networking events are half yearly and are very professionally put together sharing key business objectives, news and celebrations on good jobs
Yes
very forward thinking company, looking to the future and being an innovative brand, real and enduring focus on colleague progression and well being - as a result colleagues feel a loyalty to the bank and are well treated and respected. salarys are in line with market and barclays are always looking to improve colleagues lives
show what brand they can bring to barclays, understand barclays experience and develop this in line with barclays objectives which can be found online. it is a very forward thinking and progressive company so the adherance to change and ability to adapt to a high paced environement is very important when working at barclays
