I'm supporting the insurance claims team. This involves, coaching, manager support, organising of the daily workflow for the advisors, training of newcomers, answering queries.
I'm learning new skills currently in terms of coaching, leadership, team engagement but this has nothing to do with the apprenticeship, this is actually outside of that using my own initiative. The apprenticeship itself is definitely developing my Insurance knowledge and how I can apply it to my role.
Very informative but not much support from the provider. This has nothing to do with Booking.com. It's mainly the learning provider which is the problem. We have regular catch ups with the apprenticeship coordinator which is really good.
Could be much better but considering the circumstances when we started and that the provider has been very unorganised it has gone quite well actually.
Development time gets scheduled on a regular basis, however, sometimes I need to remind them to actually do it but that is only in my area as far as I am aware. Guidance from the apprenticeship coordinator however is excellent and she is pushing the managers towards getting more involved in the program.
Not much to be honest. Class room sessions have been ok but the practical side has been a bit all over the place. We had some sessions with our skills coach but have only been given a list of things to do. No short interval control to check in if everything is going well at all.
It has definitely given me insight into the Insurance sector that i didn't have before, however, as Support Advisor my role is actually very different that that of a Claims Handler. Many things have not been applicable to me personally, however, it is still good to know because I am supporting the claims handlers.
Yes! Yoga, choir, football, networking events (in the IT part), language exchange, etc. You name it, we have it. Booking.com is a great place to work if you love getting involved in things. We have groups of colleagues doing "Tough Mudder" together in support of our chosen Charity for example.
Yes
Amazing company to work for. Brilliant benefits and the people actually really care. I don't think I have every seen anything like this company. We get regular updates on what's going on at higher leadership level. We have company events and brilliant engagement. I wouldn't want to work anywhere else.
Be yourself and don't be afraid to be different. We love being different is one of our values actually! But honestly, if you are looking for a job or are interested in starting an apprenticeship with Booking.com, please go for it. With our apprenticeship coordinator you are in very capable hands and everyone here is very friendly and supportive.
