Within MBDA's apprenticeship program we have 3 - 6 month placements at different departments in MBDA allowing us to see the whole of the business. Currently I am within the quality department which I am helping out with the auditing process, which Is rewarding as I know the work I am doing helps the company.
Within the work place my apprenticeship has helped me to develop my professional skills; how to be presentable and professional, leading meetings, organisation. And at college I have been able to develop my understanding on engineering by completing my HNC. I have gained a large amount of professional and educational knowledge by joining MBDA
I really enjoy the programme as it enables me to learn within a professional sense as well as a educational sense. Within the work place I have 3 to 6 month placements in different areas of the business which means that I can learn what each area if the business does. This allows the program to not become boring.
MBDA's apprenticeship program is very well structured with us knowing what and where our next placements will be in. MBDA also has a team that is here to support the current apprentices and graduates within their programs. This allows for the apprenticeship program to be organised and running smoothly.
As previously said we have a team of people who look after the apprenticeship who offer as support throughout our program. We also receive support and training in our placements. In our placements we have a manager who is in charge of us but if we ever need any help other members of the team are always whiling to help
we receive a load of training from our college, (Oaklands College Welwyn Garden Cirty). At Oaklands we gain our HNC which we need training to be able to complete. Also at work we are provided with the relevant training to complete our NVQ being guide on how to correctly complete them.
gaining a HNC and a NVQ allows me to preform better in my role as I am able to understand the fundamentals of what each process does and how that relates to the business and or the final product. Without the extra qualification I may not be able to understand each process.
At MBDA there are a vast amount of extra events or activities you can get involved in. MBDA has its own sports gym and has plenty of sports teams for different sports. There are also plenty of volunteering you can do for the company EG helping out with open days.
Yes
I would recommend MBDA to a friend as there are a vast amount of different jobs and opportunities within MBDA. Also MBDA apprentice scheme is reasonably flexible allowing you to do a range of different placements while still being able to gain a qualification with a good amount of pay
People applying to MBDA should focus on what makes the unique and a interesting individual. Having a 'Unique Selling Point' helps them to stand out especially because MBDA is such a large company. As a apprentice you will be given responsibilities but it does not matter if you mess up as the program is a learning curve
