my role sits within the private clients team in Manchester. my role involved personal taxation, both advisory work and compliance work. we have a range of clients and help them with the annual taxation charges. my role is to help the client engagement teams and research, calculate and advise clients.
I have learnt lots of new skills. these include taxation knowledge. I have sat exams in this so have developed technically and built up my confidence in working in this area. I have also develop people skills by talking in meetings and running training sessions. I have also developed my time management skills
I enjoy my programme as it enable me to work in my role , gaining on the job experience as well as sitting and training for my professional qualifications. it gives me the in house knowledge that I can apply to my exams. It also gives me the chance to develp skills by taking college classes and online workshops
I think that my programme is structured well around my job role, we have a set timetable over the three year pathway with blocked out time when I am off work to study/revise. I am allocated weeks at a time prior to exams to attend a college. I think this works well
my employer provides a lot of support fro the 3 year programme. they offer us time off to revise and also provide us with lots of material to study from. they also allow us to attend internal training sessions which helps with exam knowledge and people within Deloitte are all happy to help
my training provider offers both college face to face help and then online courses. they also offer pre recorded lecture videos that cover all topics in an exam. they also have an online chat which is active all hours for any questions we may have. we do change city's for the college we attend which sometimes can be hard
I think my qualification really helps when training for my role. we need the technical knowledge from exams as much as we need the work experience we get from the role. it is very important to be up to date with taxation rules and regulations. I think the exams are very important for my role
we have lots of extra curricular activities that go in in my work place. we have regular yoga sessions at lunch time. we have a choir, football teams and walking clubs. we also have monthly drinks after work and socials all them time. my team in particular do a lot of social activities after work
Yes
Deloitte are a great company to work for, they offer the chance to take your professional qualifications supporting you through the process and they are a very good company, well known for what they do. they offer very good work perks to the job and are also known to be sociable and friendly firm
I would recommend anyone to apply to work at Deloitte. they need to be hard working and committed to the qualifications. I would recommend they read up on the firm and the company ethos before attending an interview. I would also recommend researching which line of business they would be best suited to
