I am involved in a variety of projects across funds and M&A. I catch up with the project manager to get an overview of the project, we then work through information the client has sent us and then I draft reports for the project manager to review and amend.
I have gained a lot of technical knowledge around the treatment of shares and the tax implications of acquiring and selling shares since starting in this role. My business writing has improved as I understand how to format an email to a client or a deliverable in the form of a report.
I have enjoyed being able to apply the skills and knowledge I have gained in college to my day to day work in the office. I feel that the content of the apprenticeship should be structured to suit graduates but I am hoping that some of the content will help me to progress.
I think that the programme is well structured and I like that we have a coach who keeps track of our progress and makes sure that we are meeting our targets each month. One improvement I would suggest is to give us an outline of the whole programme from the start.
We receive a lot of support from our employer throughout our exams. I do feel like they don't fully understand the apprenticeship and what is expected of us. They need more information on the full details of what we are expected to do but they do support us in what we are doing.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider who checks in with me each month to remind me of my targets for that month and make sure I am meeting them. My coach addresses any issues I have with meeting the targets and answers any questions I have about the programme.
I feel that the knowledge I have gained through doing my ATT exams has helped me to perform better in my role as it has given me a lot of technical knowledge that I use day to day. It has taught me how to use the legislation so I can look up anything I may need.
We have some social events after work that we attend as a team. This benefits us in the office as you have formed good working relationships. I also volunteer through work as a maths tutor which I have enjoyed doing as I can help students who are preparing for their A levels.

Deloitte is a great employer who supports us a lot in the work that we do. They give us a lot of knowledge and set us up for a good career. I could not ask for a more supportive employer to let me make what I want of my career.
Work hard in building a well rounded CV. Academic education does count for a lot but it isn't everything. You need to have a good character, get involved, lead teams and contribute in an effective manner to anything you are involved in. Network with a variety of people and learn from their experiences.
