At the moment working in customer services, so processing orders and assisting with ensuring the supply to the customer runs smoothly. So checking the order details, and trying to ensure or gain stock where there are shortages, checking with staff in warehousing and logistics to see if there are any problems or errors. Sometimes communicate to customers, and make requests from Supply. Work closely for mentoring and assistance from full time colleagues.
Learnt a wide range of systems, and ways of working, also devolped soft skills, presentations skills, time management, orginisation etc.
Sometimes a lot of uncertaintity over role, position and responsibilties, as well as disruption to staffing. Work is sometimes menial (though that is to be expected). Colleagues generally very friendly and helpful. Tasks and general atmosphere can be interesting, though nnotice people can find the envrioment stressful. Enjoy comming into work everyday however.
Work is generally training etc. and assistanting or aiding colleagues. Feedback is generally good, but hard to tell if being a real asset or making a real difference.
Some strong points, such as a wide range of training objectives, and sounded very promising. In implementation perhaps less so, or less well orgainised, due to constraints etc. program not too well adhered too.
Training providers do not generally offer much feedback, or productive feedback, sometimes hard to contact and slow to respond. Guidance and the like isn't too clear.
Employer is busy, but people are very open and help to resolving problems when approached. A wide range of options, including HR and employee support from an external company, support is a valued company policy.
Pay is low, but asI live at home costs are low too. Travel costs in London are expensive especially considering my distance from work. Local property prices are very expensive. Work canteen is expensive.
Company has one site facilities, such as a gym and squash courts for recreational use. As well as a local sports ground. Many promotional events, or employee engagement events, on site and some off site, to take part in. Colleagues usually fairly open and welcoming, so chances to socialising, as well as more formal nights out etc. Company also has a volunteering scheme.
Yes
It's a great long term prospect. large company with good facilities, work can be varied and stimulating.
Read the company website, they recruit and judge employees on the company's values. No need to be so nervous. Think of examples where you have shown the company behaviours. Don't need to be someoen you are not, they might not be looking for what you expect.
