i am a higher apprentice pursuing the leadership and management program. My day to day role is very hard to describe as the environment i work in very dynamic and i get to involve in different exciting things. I get to rotate within departments every 6 months and thus i will be doing different things on a day to day basis. however a lot of my time is spent on experiencing leadership/management and getting involved in multiple projects.
I have quite a lot and developed numerous skills since starting my role in Barclays. All most all of my interpersonal skills such as networking, communication, leadership, teamwork, time-management, etc has improved quite a lot as i have been able to work in situations which requires a mixture/balance of skills.
I enjoy my programme to a great extend. This programme has given me several opportunities to improve and develop my skills. Working in a dynamic environment have improved my confidence and the ability to adapt to changes. This have made my day to day work very interesting, efficient and positively challenging.
With the nature of the programme there hasn't been a strict structure to my day to day role. However from university/degree side of things, there has been clear structure. Even though there hasn't been a very strict structure with my day to day role, this has given me the opportunity to be flexible and get involved in different exciting activities which has in-turn helped to gain a lot of experience.
The support that i receive from Barclays is incredible. My managers have been super supportive of my development and have helped to improve/develop quite a lot. I receive amazing support from my fellow colleagues and everyone has been super welcoming. The business looks after the degree apprentice very well.
Both Barclays and Anglia Ruskin has been really supportive. Both of them gives me adequate help towards achieving my academic objectives and attaining my qualifications. I have an appointed tutor from university to help me with my academic progression and also a coach from Barclays to help me with my progression within the business.
most of the assignments and course work that i do for my degree is directly or indirectly connected to the business and my job role. This has in-turn helped me to make sure that i am receiving overall understating about the different business functions and also relate academic theories to practical business function/activities.
Within my specific work place we have quite a lot of opportunities to socialize and get involved in extra curricular activities. some of the activities are; gym sessions, cardio training sessions, yoga class etc. i have also received opportunities to attend networking events. we also get to involve in charity and volunteer activities.
Yes
i would recommend the programme to my friends as i believe this is a great opportunity for anyone to get a good qualification and also get loads of experience without having to have a debt behind your back. Also the bank itself is a very good employer to work for.
I would say go for it. This is a great opportunity for anyone to get a good qualification and also get loads of experience without having to have a debt behind your back. Barclays is a good employer to work for as they look after their staff in the nest possible way.
