Maintenance Technician Apprentice - I spend most of the time by the side of skilled maintenance technicians who teach me how to complete certain jobs, however we also have placements around the business giving us an insite into other areas.
Ive completed a PEO level 3 along with BTEC level 3 and im now doing a HNC in electrical and electronic principles. ive been sent on numerous training couses like Working at heights, CPR and MEWP training (cherry picker) etc
I enjoy coming to work and being able to learn new skills and meet new people everyday, the best part is that everyday you do something different in my role and therefore it keeps you on your toes
They offer good benefits to you like the car scheme and employee discounts off certain brands/ compaines.
The programme is structured to an extent as far as we know what placements we are going to and the further education is also avaliable if you perform well and try.
If you need support from the tutors then they can help most of the time
If you have any issues then the managers are available to talk, and if not you can always go to the HR departement.
Its very well paid for an apprentice and i can live comfortably, would struggle if you are completely independant (paying for a house etc)
You get the oppurtunity to represent the business either during further education/ careers day/ training courses.
