I interact with clients on a daily basis. They use our software for financial analysis and come into our helpdesk via email, messenger and over the phone, where we will then advise on usage of the functionality. On top of this, we will proactively promote new functionality to clients, or arrange trainings on site for teams
In my time here I have developed a variety of skills both soft and a hard. Through experience interacting in a business environment both with colleagues and clients I have enhanced my interpersonal skills and communication abilities. On top of this, I have developed a good level of knowledge both in software (Python) and financial markets
I enjoy my programme both in terms of the time spent working and within training. Through work I have developed strong bonds with colleagues at work, and on top of this have been up-skilled in our internal functionality and necessary financial markets knowledge. Then at training, I have enjoyed growing my skills coding in Python.
Our programme is well structured, with a good balance of time split between work place duties alongside training programme work. On top of this, we are supported in our off the job studies by our employer and provided with contacts in case of needing advice or assistance with any area.
We receive a strong level of support from our employer, both in terms of the work we are required to complete for our qualification, and in terms of development of skills relevant to the company directly. We are given time during the day to work on portfolio content which helps to manage workload
We receive a good level of support from our training provider when working towards our qualifications. Our tutor for the subject area has a high level of knowledge and communicates it well, and also has built a good relationship with the group. There could be stronger support from the surrounding management of the provider
The qualification helps, in that through our daily work we interact with clients utilising our data through programmatic interfaces. We have our own proprietary python modules which thanks to our core knowledge gained through our training we are able to study to build on core python knowledge and assist users further.
There are some extra curricular activities to participate in at work. We have groups and societies for different interests or social groups. On top of this, there are teams for sports such as football that are built through work. Finally, within our specific teams there will sometimes be organised nights out
