To assist in the preparation of tax advice to clients, spanning from mutli-national corporations to high net-worth individuals. To organise the necessary internal risk management procedures and to initiate compliance processes, whilst assisting with the day-to-day client correspondance.
Both on the job learning and studying towards my technical qualification has helped me to gain a vastly increased knowledge of tax, whilst also allowing me to greatly develop my work based skills.
PwC and the team in which I sit are both very welcoming and have made my time here so far very enjoyable. The work is always interesting and pushes me to challenge myself everyday.
The internal recognition system allows me to receive feedback regularly, showing me on areas where I can improve, but also giving me recognition for a job well done.
The job itself is incredibly well structured, as are my studies towards my technical qualification. However the additional apprenticeship criteria which has to be met is slightly less organised and the structure could be imrpoved. For example, some of the modules which we are asked to cover as part of our apprenticeship do not arise as part of my normal day-to-day job or my personal studies, and so at times it is difficult to achieve everything the apprenticeship asks - especially as it is completely separate to my job and does not always link in.
The support offered by PwC is outstanding, and I always feel like there are a range of people that I can go to for help and advice on any piece of work. Everyone is willing to offer their help when it is needed.
The salary that we are paid is not sufficient to effectively live in central London, meaning that I have to commute in from outside London. However travel prices are also incredibly high and constantly rising, and the majority of my pay is spent on forms of travel and living costs.
No
PwC is a very friendly and supportive place to work, providing me with brilliant career prospects for the future, both within PwC and outside should I eventually leave.
