Vauxhall allow their apprentices to rotate within the largere organisation. I am currently in my 2nd year, and have previously worked in the Customer Care Department. I am now the Training and Development Assistant in HR. My daily tasks include; - Running a CAP report for all employees - Responsible for organising Training courses and liaising with external companies - Responsible for the Work Experience Programme - I will be assisting with the Recruitment for the 2015 intake of Undergrads and Apprentices - Keeping the training database up to date with all employee records of training courses.
I have developed my organisational skills and my confidence has definitely grown. I am confident when speaking to colleagues over the phone or by email. Furthermore, I will be interviewed trained so I will be able to interview candidates on assessment days.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement in Customer Care - I was able to learn about parts of the car that I have never heard of before. I have enjoyed my time in HR so far, I am looking forward to the other opportunities that I can get involved with.
My colleagues have treated me like a normal employee, and I have been given the same opportunities as everyone else. I was recognised by another department for going the "Extra Mile" - I did work for them that wasn't part of my job role. I have also been nominated for the "Outstanding Achievement by a First Year Apprentice" by my department.
Training - There are a number of training courses that are available to us to go on. Mentor System - We do do have a mentor system and are encouraged to meet with them monthly.
Our training provider gives us help and guidance.
We are always encouraged to give feedback on the apprenticeship programme.
Very well. I pay "household contributions" to my parents and then all I have to do is pay for my train ticket. The rest is mine!
I have recently been able to visit Career's fairs in the local community and in London. We are trusted to represent the brand to external companies.
