In my current role I liaise with insurers, lawyers and suppliers to negotiate and eventually recover the monies paid out within customer claims.
Over the past 10 months, this apprenticeship has enabled my confidence to grow ecstatically from the daily contact with both suppliers and our customers through many communication channels including telephone and email.
My programme is more enjoyable than expected! Although it is hard work, the daily challenges are always interesting and the level of trust TUI has in us gives me the sense of belonging in addition to being a great confidence booster.
Considering we are the first apprentices of this type, the organisation levels are impressive! We are always given up-to-date information and are surrounded with mentors who can help out when needed.
We have been given a variety of mentors in addition to our general line managers. This enables us to query specific questions to specific people dependant on the issue in question. Everyone is always willing to help!
At Uni we are also given a mentor in addition to our general lecturers. We schedule frequent meetings to discuss any issues there may be. This enables both us and the relevant people to provide feedback on the course so far.
The learning I receive from my training provider is forever helping my daily work. For example, the module 'Contract Law' has really aided my understanding of my role.
Yes there are many activities that are available through work, for example a netball team and a running team. In addition, there are frequent professional networking events that are a great part of the role, for example a trip to Crete and a cruise!
