My role is in the personal tax team. My main job daily is completing individuals tax returns and submitting them to HMRC. This invloves analysing individuals infomation and inputting it correctly onto our systems.
I have developed my team working skills as I work closely with others to achieve a common goal. The main target being to have all tax returns submitted by the annual deadline. Also as I work closely with others I have developed my communication skills both verbally and written.
I enjoy my daily role as it is very varied, every tax return is different and therefore I am able to learn new things all the time.
The programme is mapped out with all my college dates and exam dates in my work diary. The college days are inline with the exam dates.
My employer is very supportive with helping me get signed up to my exams and encouraging me to do well.
The training provider makes many videos and practise questions available which supported me during my exam study. They are also easy to contact for help via email and respond relatively fast.
Most of what I have learnt so far at college has helped me understand my day to day role better. The tuition taught me what the computer does when I input numbers into the system therefore I am better equpied to spot mistakes or things that don't look right.
There are a number of regular social events e.g. quarterly breakfast. They also have a football social event each year.
