I have recently started a new role within a new team and so still in the process of transferring teams. My previous job role consisted of: • Assist with updating existing industry and product reports on an annual basis. • Assist with ad hoc requests from the FINEX community • Assist with other client projects as required e.g. internal user guide, detailed analysis packs for clients. • Analyse allocated UK and US claims, new notifications and paid claims • Achieve acceptable throughput and quality of analysed claims, as measured by quality scores.
Training provided is a great opportunity to learn around the industry which my job role is within. I am able to develop confidence and believe I have become more mature as a person to understanding my commitments and tasks to prioritise them to make sure I effectively manage them. a
I am enjoying the role I am with and am happy with the change in job role and I believe the role will be more suited to my studies. the programme provide a great light into the industry I am within and provides the correct level and intensity of training need to fully understand the syllabus.
Very well organised, I believe the way the company has set it out having 2 (half day) lessons every couple of weeks allows me to have a set routine and not be over-stressed with work and the programme sided studies. The job role also further allows individuals the time to study at work which is helpful.
There is constant reviews and meetings with managers and apprenticeship leaders. Support is always available via Skype or 1 to 1 meetings / discussions. Constant questioning and reviews makes it clear that the team are wanting to ensure that the programme is at the best possible level and any problems and / or issues can be cleared ASAP as a result of us (apprentices) being asked regularly.
A lot we are provide with tutor to come in and deliver 6 hours of learning/revision every couple of weeks where we are provided with tasks and a timetable that we can get on with in free/assigned revision times to ensure that we are on track to passing the exams.
The qualification and course study has been set out to ensure that it benefits us in the early stage of our career in the industry. Through the separate syllabuses it teaches a variety of aspects that make up the insurance industry. • The concept of risk. - Categories Peril and Hazards Moral Physical - Insurable and Uninsurable risks - Pooling of risks
The Industry's board/organisation provides regular events and presentations to attend in order to gain an insight into areas of the industry that up up-and-coming and in the public domain. provided me with knowledge that within the current position I would not have had any exposure to. a a
Yes
Great position within the local region and provides the best apprenticeship wage with little to no travel costs. Apprentices hired in yearly batches so never feel lonely/left out and you'll always have someone to speak/turn to if troubled or confused. Great position to go into straight from school and provides a easy platform to develop into a full time working life from school life.
Fully understand and prepare for the interviews by understanding the job role and industry you are applying for. Find references of people within Willis - maybe you know someone, contact them and ask questions to make sure you know what you are going on about. be relaxed and make the interview more like a conversation than an interrogation, an interview - as the interviewer is going to have to work with you for 2+ years so good to get an idea of who you as a person is. also prep some questions: 1. What responsibilities will I be given, when I start and progress through my time within the team? 2. What would make me stand out as an employee within your team? 3. Describe your time at Willis in 3/5 words? 4. What and why made you choose WTW and the insurance industry? 5. What are the benefits of working for WTW? 6. What characteristics will make me succeed as an individual in the job role and company? 7. Where do you think the team and WTW will be in the next 5/10 years? 8. Where do you want me to be as an employee by the end of the apprenticeship scheme? 9. What is the most difficult aspect/area of the job role?
