On a day to day basis I usually deal with one in particular client known as MFG (Motor Fuel Group) and there uninsured loss recovery claims for damage to their property. along side that I help the administration team to get all the post scanned in and delegated to the correct claims handler.
I have learnt more about communication in a work place and improved greatly on it, I have also developed my technology skills when using new systems at work and further developing my skills on systems I have used before e.g. Excel and word. Finally I find that when writing emails I have developed my professional language.
It extremely enjoyable, I have met lots of new people from all different backgrounds and made great connections with my work team alongside developing a keen interest in the insurance industry especially hearing about fraud from one of my team members and what there day to day role at work.
There is excellent structure in the way that there are regular meetings for all the apprentices to voice their opinions on workshops and how they would improve the program themselves. There is also plenty of opportunity to ask for help from the apprenticeship organizers when ever you need to do so.
I receive a substantial amount of support from my employer, this includes the apprenticeship heads, the workshop tutors and my manager, they all communicate with each other themselves and make sure that I am on track with targets and let me know when Im doing something wrong and congratulate me when I have done something well.
There is some support from the growth company near the start of the apprenticeship but not a lot. as I have gone further through the process I have noticed that they do become more supportive with not only my exams but how I am doing at work and how I can improve.
It helps me to study more efficiently for my examinations and aim higher in my job role in general, this is then going to benefit my overall apprenticeship experience because I will be able to see where I may still need to improve but also allow me to see where my strengths are.
there are plenty of extra-curricular activities at work such as training events, lunch and learns and a group called the young professionals that help you through your journey/time at the company, these consist of talks from other employees, lunch and learns and through informative events to help with networking yourself.
Yes
Because it is a friendly yet great company to work for, not only do you get a sense of achievement it is definitely the first step towards success in the industry as it opens so many doors to me and my peers. The opportunities are just incredible that you cannot pass.
to be themselves and not worry too much about interviewing, the interviewer wants to know about you and how you will fit into work at the company not about what you can and cannot do. try to make yourself open to change in career and treat it like the only opportunity for success you will get.
