MY DAY-TO-DAY WILL ALWAYS START OF WITH OPENING THE BUREAU. MAKING SURE ALL THE MONEY ADDS UP, CHECKING THE SECURITY BAGS HAVE NOT BEEN OPENED AND OPENING IT UP FOR THE DAY IN GENERAL TO START DOING TRANSACTIONS. I WILL THEN NEED TO CHECK ALL ADMIN, THE EMAILS, THE DIARY, LETTERS WHAT HAVE ARRIVED. KEEPING ON TOP WITH ALL THE ADMIN IS VERY IMPORTANT AS YOU DON'T WANT TO FEEL BEHIND WITH ADMIN AS I WOULD SAY IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT JOBS IN THE STORE. CUSTOMERS WILL BE COMING IN FOR DIFFERENT REASONS I.E BOOKING A HOLIDAY, AMENDING EXISTING HOLIDAYS OR CANCELLING, QUESTIONS WANTING TO BE ANSWERED ABOUT THEIR HOLIDAY SO THEY FEEL REASSURED, BUT ALSO DEAL WITH ANY COMPLAINTS THE CUSTOMERS MAY HAVE. THERE ARE LOTS MORE RESPONSIBILITY I HAVE TO DO ON A DAY-TODAY BASIS AND ITS IMPORTANT TO BE EFFICIENT WHEN WORKING.
YES, I HAVE LEARNT MANY NEW SKILLS WITHIN THIS JOB. MY GEOGRAPHY HAS GOT AMAZING, UNDERSTANDING DIFFERENT COUNTRIES/AREAS ALONG WITH TEMPERATURES, AIRPORT CODES ETC. MY UNDERSTANDING ON CURRENCY RATES AND CURRENCY CODES. THE WHOLE PROCESS IN BOOKING A CUSTOMERS HOLIDAY, THE SERVICE FROM WHEN THEY BOOK TO WHEN THEY GET HOME. DEALING WITH COMPLAINTS, AND UNDERSTANDING THE FULL JOB.
OVERALL, THROUGHOUT MY APPRENTICESHIP I HAVE ENJOYED GETTING TO LEARN THE JOB IN A DEEPER LEVEL. COLLEAGUES WHO HAVE BEEN HERE 20+ YEARS CAN SOMETIMES NOT ANSWER THE QUESTIONS PIVOT ASKS ME. I HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY LUCKY WITH THE SUPPORT WITHIN TUI BUT IT IS VERY HARD WORK. HAVING TO BALANCE THE JOB AND COMPLETING A LEVEL 3 COURSE IS CHALLENGING BUT IT HAS HELPED ME GROW AS A PERSON AND EXPERIENCE LIFE SKILLS AT A YOUNG AGE.
TO START OF WITH, THE PROGRAMME WAS FAIRLY STRAIGHT FORWARD. IT THEN BEGAN GETTING HARD.. THE SYSTEM FOR MY APPRENTICESHIP KEPT CHANGING, LEAVING MY WORK TO DISAPPEAR AND VANISH. THE SYSTEM WOULD MOVE ABOUT SO THE WORK I HAVE COMPLETED ON A JOURNEY WOULD THEN NOT BE SAVED. FOR A LONG TIME, MY ASSESSOR WAS DEALING WITH 3 OTHER REGIONS MEANING SHE HAS 60+ APPRENTICE'S AND I WOULD NOT RECEIVE THE FULL SUPPORT.
IT CAN BE CHALLENGING, I HAVE DEALT WITH 4 DIFFERENT MANAGERS WITHIN THE 1 1/2 YEARS OF WORKING WITH THE COMPANY. SOME MANAGERS HAVE NEVER HAD AN APPRENTICE BEFORE AND DIDN'T QUITE KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THE SUPPORT AND OTHERS HAVE HAD APPRENTICES AND THE SUPPORT HAVE BEEN AMAZING. OVERALL, ALL MANAGERS AND COLLEAGUES (OTHER MANAGERS FROM OTHER STORES AND MY RSM) HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY SUPPORTIVE.
A LOT OF SUPPORT IS GIVEN BY THE ASSESSORS/CITY AND GUILDS AND EVERYONE WHO WORKS WITH APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME. THEY HAVE OTHER APPRENTICES BUT MYSELF WHO THEY ALSO HAVE TO SUPPORT BUT THEY ALWAYS GET BACK TO YOU AND MARK YOUR WORK ON TIME. THEY ARE ALWAYS COMING UP WITH BETTER AND GREATER IDEAS ON HOW TO MAKE OUT LIVES EASIER FOR EVERYONE BY MAKING THE SYSTEMS BETTER TO USE.
EVERY MONTH WHEN I TRY TO COMPLETE A NEW JOURNEY, I LEARN LOTS THROUGH THERE THAT HELP ME BECOME BETTER AT MY ROLE. I ANSWER QUESTIONS AND COMPLETE TASKS WHICH I MAY NOT HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY CONFIDANT WITH AND IT HAS PROGRESSED ME TO FEEL MORE CONFIDANT AND ANSWER/DO TAKES EASILY. EVERY DAY I LEARN FROM MY COLLEAGUES AND OTHERS WITHIN TUI.
I HAVE TAKEN PART IN A CARRIERS FAIR WHICH WAS HELD IN LONDON, TALKING TO STUDENT WHO ARE LEARNING TRAVEL AND TOURISM ABOUT MY JOB ROLE AND THE COMPANY ITSELF. EVERY MONTH WHEN I HAVE AN APPRENTICE DAY, THEY WILL ORGANISE SUPPLIERS TO COME IN SO THAT WE LEARN MORE AND FEEL MORE CONFIDANT SELLING THEIR PRODUCT. I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GO ON AN EDUCATIONAL TO MAJORCA WHICH REALLY HAS HELPED WITH MY CONFIDENCE IN SELLING THAT DESTINATION AND WAS FULLY KNOWLEDGEABLE.

IT'S A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH, THE BENEFITS ARE AMAZING AND THERES LOTS OF AREAS WITHIN TUI YOU CAN WORK IN AND GREAT OPPORTUNITIES TO WORK IN. I WILL ALWAYS STAY WITH THE COMPANY BUT IT IS AMAZING WE ARE ABLE TO WORK ON AIRCRAFTS, REPS, CRUISE SHIPS AND HEAD OFFICE.
BE CONFIDENT, IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO HAVE AN ENTHUSIASTIC PERSONALITY AND SHINE, MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN AND NOT FORGOTTEN BY THE EMPLOYER. USE ALL EXPERIENCES AND KNOWLEDGE THROUGHOUT AN INTERVIEW SUCH AS: AREAS YOU HAVE VISITED ABROAD? PAST JOB EXPERIENCES LIKE HOW YOU DEALT WITH DIFFICULT SITUATIONS ETC: FOR ME, I WORRIED ABOUT THE MATHS TEST.. IT HAS BEEN ONE OF MY BIGGEST PROBLEMS THROUGHOUT LIFE.. BUT I HAVE REALIZED THAT MATHS DOES NOT DEFINE YOU AS A PERSON AND THAT YOU WILL LEARN IT BETTER AS YOU DO THE JOB.
