mainly receiving requests for individual calculations for members of Willis Towers Watson clients for a transfer value of their pension. it involves working alongside members of the team and also on an individual basis. as the programme has progressed I have started to receive other pieces of work that will prepare me for when my apprenticeship is completed.
I have learnt a lot about how to use excel and the ease of which it can make several day to day tasks become. I have developed my mathematical skills to incorporate an actuarial approach. my team working skills have been improved significantly by both being exposed to team working scenarios and bpp training days
I have very much enjoyed the programme. I am fond of the people I work with on a day to day basis and have made several friends within the office. I enjoy the types of work I am receiving and feel they provide a good test to some important skills I want to maintain and develop
very well structured. the programme itself is clear in when and how exams are taken, what kinds of work i will take on at different times and what is required of me to complete my apprenticeship. in terms of management I have two hub managers and a line manager who takes note of my work from an apprenticeship point of view.
a lot of support. willis towers Watson provides us with 18 study days per exam to prepare. we have assigned study mentors and also receive exam support from more senior colleagues who have been in our position. from a work perspective, our hub managers provide a lot of support and most colleagues in the office are very willing and able to help us when needed
lots of support. we our provided with study materials such as text books for each exam and an online portal where we can take tests on individual chapters and the course as a whole. furthermore our training provider runs skills days for us to attend, where we have learnt skills such as interpersonal communication and team work
the skills learnt on the training days have helped me, particularly in terms of working with others. the help they provide with exams has helped me boost the knowledge I need in my job role on a regular basis. my skills coach from my training provider has given me guidance around the job itself on our meetings with him
there are regular monthly socials within the office as well as others such as the graduate social, Christmas social and promotion socials. I have attended many of these and consolidated workplace relationships at such events. I also play five a side football with a group of friends within the office, which is paid for by the company
Yes
the company provides a lot of support in all areas when needed. the workplace atmosphere is calm and friendly yet also necessarily professional. there are lots of social events for those who want to attend. the progression oppurtunities are vast and the work is generally enjoyable and provides a good test
be confident in your application and in your interviews. be prepared for a potentially more informal interview than you may have expected, this is something I wasn't particularly ready for. commit to your application as it is a company that is very enjoyable to work for both inside and out of the office
