This is a customer-faced role which requires assistance via inbound and outbound calls to assist with any technical problem a client may face when using the Bloomberg terminal. We provide platinum customer support to the clients and help to solve their issues in a timely manner by following up with cases that we have worked on in the past in order to resolve as soon as possible.
I have learnt many skills, such us communication skill, how to navigate the Bloomberg terminal, organisational skills. Most importantly, I have developed the management skill as it is required as a customer support representative to work on the current projects we have been given and try our best to maintain it throughout.
I really enjoyed working in my workplace as I had the opportunity to work with people from my department and gain exposure to the procedures in other departments here in Bloomberg. I have participated in many different events here such as the Diversity and Inclusion panel discussion on Women's Leadership.
My programme is very organised, I worked 4 days a week and once a week I would have the chance to study in my training place in order to work towards my apprenticeship qualification. This allows me to invest some time during the week into my apprenticeship to ensure that I am able to complete my assignments in a timely manner.
I work in a fantastic team where we all help each other with any questions we may have when at my workplace. We have a global department chat where I could ask any work-related question if I get stuck. In addition to this, we also have a global team page that provides information on how to handle any call we receive and I am also part of the team who updates and maintains this team page.
My employer is very considerate of my apprenticeship studies, they are readily available with any support they can give. Sometimes I may need to shadow other departments in Bloomberg in order to complete my assignment or study for my exams and my employer is very helpful when it comes to finding the right contact person for the shadowing.
My qualification provides the theory aspect of what I engage in at work. For example, one of the topics I cover is the Business Continuity topic and I am able to apply what I have learnt to the real-life scenario on how Bloomberg prepares for Business Continuity in case of a disaster.
We have many different community to take part in such as the diversity and inclusion community, the family community etc. We also have something called the BOB Events where we take place in volunteering/ charity activities to help communities outside of the Bloomberg office. Bloomberg also has a summer party every year where we can bring a family member to introduce to our teams and enjoy the day with great social activity.
Yes
Bloomberg provides fantastic opportunities to people who are looking to develop their skill set and gain experience in a vibrant environment that keeps changing and developing. This would be a great place to expand your network and engage in different projects that will be useful to yourself and the wider Bloomberg community.
I would advice to showcase your motivation for joining the company by demonstrating examples of what you have participated in before and how that would link with the current job role that you are applying for. In addition, I would advice to smile! Smile's always break the ice in interviews :)
