  • I am an Insurance apprentice, and I am responsible for handling many accounts, assisting with placing policies at renewal and servicing accounts during the policy period.

  • I have developed many existing skills, including my communication and my organizational skills. I have learnt many things, including appropriate office etiquette along with learning how to improve my networking skills to build relationships with underwriters and colleagues.

  • I thoroughly enjoy my job, and feel that Willis gives me both the support and resources to consistently improve my knowledge and skills. I enjoy working with my colleagues, with each day being different from the last.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well structured, as I am aware of what I need to do and when to meet my apprenticeship deadlines. The portfolio building is a long process but is made as easy and streamlined as possible.

  • My employer always encourages me to meet my apprenticeship deadlines and consistently helps me within my day to day job role.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I am very well supported by my training provider - they always ensure I know what I need to do and when it needs to be done by. They make the process as efficient as possible and always give help and feedback.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me to understand my job role further as I am required to complete exams on the London Market and different insurance principles.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are always activities to get involved in - whether this be networking events with underwriters or a team social outing.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • We are very well looked after as employees, with progression always being available if wanted. It is easy to get involved with bigger projects and networking to allow you to put your name within the Insurance Market.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
  • Ensure you've done your research about what WTW actually does and a bit of it's background. Ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to ask again.
